I would like to find out where I may possibly get funding for a study I am currently planning. The objective of the study is to monitor the impact of a nutrition supplement designed from locally available foods, to combat the nutritional complications associated with HIV infection, such as poor absorption and muscle wasting. The project will be based in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa and will be carried out among adults 18-30 years. Participants will be from Ikhaya Lobomi, a hospice in the area that cares for HIV and AIDS patients. Participants may not be malnourished, but will have a food-insecure background. The project will also involve working with the University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa, as well as researchers from the University of Greenwich in the UK, who are the pioneers behind the nutrition supplement. |
